New York 2021

If you are wondering how our New York trip went, one simple phrase that we repeated over and over describes it... It Was A Vibe.

BUT, not the vibe you might be used to. More below.

New York always has a magical feel to it, and don't get me wrong, we REALLY enjoyed our time there. Things are just different now. The city that never sleeps has changed. As to be expected with a global pandemic. BUT, it's something to know going into planning for a trip.

HONEST DISCLAIMER

Many, and I mean MANY, of the establishments require proof of vaccination to even enter. You absolutely need to plan ahead if you are not vaccinated!

So where did you stay?!

We stayed in SoHo at the NoMo Soho Hotel! This was my second time staying here and Chan's first. We loved the hotel and had the most amazing dinner at the NoMo restaurant downstairs! If you are planning to stay in the SoHo area, this is the spot! It's close to TONS of shopping and some amazing restaurants.

Did you say Pizza?!

We couldn't visit NYC without getting some of New York's finest 'Za! Sbarro was our first stop ;) (if you understand that reference you are a true Mann Fam OG). Chan got pizza twice and ate the entire thing by himself BOTH TIMES! That boy has an iron gut. We hit some of the highest rated Barstool Sports One Bite locations!

I know I saw something about Ice Cream!

Possibly the highlight of the trip! The Museum of Ice Cream was the coolest experience especially for those dairy lovers (Chan ate his heart out). They even had vegan/dairy free options for all us with sensitive tummies. I was LIVING for all the pink.

Did you get a lift in?

Of course! We had to burn off those extra calories and Chan said he needed to put all that pizza to work! We shot over to Chelsea Piers Fitness for a workout with a VIEW! This was such a cool spot to come and train and had us drooling over the views across the river!

Central Park in the Fall

Probably the most enjoyable thing we did the entire trip. Central Park in the Fall truly is a vibe! We pulled out the Canon DSLR for the perfect opportunity to snag some detail shots. Look at these colors!

Outfits

My favorite thing about the city is that you can wear anything you want and you won't be out of place!

Overall Opinion

So, hear me out... we really enjoyed our time and were able to do most of the things that we wanted to, however we won't be back to NYC for awhile. The city feels different. And that's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's not the same as we remember. Police presence is noticeably down, the sanitation workers were on strike the week before we visited so there was trash overflowing in the streets, and the city is VERY restricted.

With that being said, we still love NYC! We went on our 1-year anniversary trip here back in 2016. The city holds a special place in our heart and we hope it finds it's old ways/charm in the future. Remember, this is all our opinion and you may feel completely different if/when you decide to visit :)
